The Western Regional Minister, Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has embarked on a working visit to inspect the progress of work on the reconstruction of the model Appiatse community project.
The visit by the Regional Minister was among others assess the progress of work at the site.
Reconstruction of the model Appiatse community consist of 124 housing units and all the components comprises of 1-7 bedrooms.
The project which was undertaken by six contractors are under the supervision of AESL with Rural Housing providing them with all the building materials.
It is expected to be completed in the next nine months.
Dr. Okyere Darko-Mensah reassured the people of Appiatse and the Prestea Huni-Valley municipality of the government commitment to build ultra modern community for the people of Appiatse with all the social amenities available to them for a good conducive environment.
The minister after the inspection of the project expressed satisfaction over the work done so far and encouraged the worker to continue with how they have started to meet the dead line date.
He said, GetFund through the assembly will construct a six-unit classroom block for the people to enable them have access to education within the community.
The Ministry of Health, according to the Regional Minister will also establish a bone-setting clinic for the people to cushion them in the bone healing work they are doing.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Prestea Huni-Valley, Dr. Isaac Dasmani, on his part, thanked the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawamia for fulfilling their promises made to the people of Appiatse.
He noted that the work so far is satisfactory and pleaded with the inhabitants to exercise some patients, come together and support the government to deliver houses, adding that their collective effort is needed during this construction period to meet the deadline.
He also called on the victims to support the work to meet the completion deadline to prevent any possible delay.
