World invitation day to Christmas in Sekondi-Takoradi is a day the organisers of the Christmas Festival in Sekondi-Takoradi invite people to witness the annual Christmas Festival in the Twin-City.

This year’s event which is dubbed: “Orokodo #3” Sekondi-Takoradi Christmas 22.

Ghananest.com in an interview with Charles Cobbina popularly known as Kempes said, indigenes of the Sekondi-Takoradi and Western Region have a duty to invite 5 people to the 2022 Christmas Festival through social media, Direct phone call, personally approaching the person and extend the invitation today as the organisers launch the event.

He said the Orokodo #3 Sekondi-Takoradi Christmas 22′ will become extraordinary and people around the globe must endeavour to witness the festival.

Sekondi-Takoradi has become a destination people around the globe go to during Christmas to celebrate the occasion.

It is a place where thousands of people gather around Amanful, near Takoradi Market Circle to catch a glimpse of the masquerades and have a feel of the popular street carnival.

The colourful masquerades parade through the streets and dance to the tune of brass band music in celebration of the festival.

The excitement of the festival is not only in the dancing skills and colourful attire of the different displays but also the masks that each masquerade wore and how they appear in them.

The event brings together indigenes of Sekondi-Takoradi and the Western Region from other part of the country and in the diaspora to participate.

The event has also boosted tourism and business activities in the region.
