The Municipal Chief Executive of the Nzema East, Madam Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah has donated assorted food items to victims of about eight flood-affected communities within the Gwira enclave in the Nzema East municipality.
The items include 80 bags of perfume rice, cartons of cooking oil, cartons of sardines, cartons of key soap among others worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
Presenting the items on behalf of the MCE, the Municipal NADMO Coordinator of Nzema East, John Amoah said items was to salvage the situation and called on companies, NGOs and other individuals to also come in the aid of the victims.
The MCE also indicated that the assembly has put some measures in place to mitigate the plight of the people living in areas prone to floods.
She said, the government thought the Assembly will work to ensure the people, especially those displaced, will come back to normalcy.
The NPP Coordinator for Bamiankor, Obed Tsibuah, who received the items on behalf of the victims thanked the MCE for the kind gesture.
He said, the donation has come at a time which is needed most since the incident.
He appealed to the corporate organisations and other Philanthropists to come in their aid.
The beneficiary communities are Bokoro, Adelekezo, Kukwavile, Ajomoro Eshiem, Bamiankor, Awolozo, Akosonu, Anibil, Adrekezo.
