A 19-year-old General Art student of the Jachie-Pramso Senior High School of the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region, Osei Paul, has been found dead after declared missing.
A substance suspected to be ‘Indian Hemp’ otherwise known as ‘wee’ was found in his pocket.
Station Officer at the Jachie Police Station, Chief Inspector Samuel Kra, said a resident discovered the half-naked body of the deceased in an uncompleted building at Pramso, few kilometers from the school’s campus on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
He added that the family of the deceased has confirmed the identity deceased after he was sent to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
Chief Inspector Kra, indicated that the police has started investigations and no arrest has so far been made.
A source at the school unanimously said the deceased went missing on early Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021, when he (the deceased) was supposed to sit for the last paper of his final examination.
The source further stated that all frantic efforts by the school to find or reach him proved futile.
“We later heard that a dead body of a young man of the same age has been discovered by the Pramso police, so we rushed to the police station to identify the body”
Meanwhile, the Chief of Pramso Nana Gyampotua II who sent his sub-chiefs to the scene also said a substance believed to be cannabis was found on the deceased pocket.
He called for comprehensive investigations into the situation and find out what the student was doing at the uncompleted building while his colleagues were in school learning.
