The Assembly Members of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly has overwhelmingly endorsed the president’s nominee John Agyare as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the assembly.
Mr. Agyare received 100 per cent endorsement by all the 52 assembly members who voted ‘YES’ to approve their his nomination in an election conducted and supervised by the District Electoral Commission Officer at Agona Nkwanta in the western region.
The election was witnessed by the Minister of Chieftaincy and religious Affairs and the MP for Ahanta West, Lawyer Ebenezer Kojo Kum, the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Western Regional Chairman of NPP, Francis Ndede Siah, fmr MP for Ahanta West, Samuel Jonfiah, NPP regional organiser, Abdul Mohammed Ganiyu.
Other are the Municipal Chief Executive of Effia-Kwesimintsim, Kojo Acquah, DCE for Mpohor, Isaac Asaah Mensah, Western Regional Women Organiser, Abena Kwaala, fmr DCE, Joseph Dofoyenah, fmr DCE Dr. Jones Amoah, Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove, Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX, among other dignitaries.
Mr. John Agyare after his swearing in pledged his commitment to work assiduously to improve the lives of the youth and the people of the municipality by effectively mobilising the human and material resources with the development partners for socio-economic growth.
He assured the assembly members to be transparent and accountable to the assembly. He added that, he will walk the talk and leave a legacy which will make him one the MCE who served the people of Ahanta West with great achievement.
