
Lawyer Blay Armah Nyameke
The Sekondi Parliament Candidate of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Blay Armah Nyameke, has presented 6 brand new industrial sewing machines worth thousands of Ghana cedis to masquerading clubs in the Sekondi constituency.
The purpose of the presentation, according to him, was to unearth the tourism potentials of the Sekondi as part of uplifting the economic activities of the constituency as well as cushioning the youth in the area.
Presenting the sewing machines to the beneficiaries, Lawyer Blay Armah Nyameke, pledged his willingness to positively respond to the appeals of the people of Sekondi and assured them doing everything withing his capabilities to provide their request to them to ameliorate them from every challenge facing the people in the constituency.
The beneficiaries include; Nyanta Boys masquerading club, Oil City masquerading club, Odoyefew masquerading society, Ocean City masquerading club, State masquerading society, Freedom and Justice masquerading club.
This was as a result of request by the masquerading clubs to the NDC parliamentary candidate to support the clubs with industrial sewing machine which will enhance their preparation process towards the annual masquerading event in Sekondi-Takoradi and the Western region at region.
Lawyer Blay in an interview, after the presentation said, he was motivated by his desire and willingness to contribute his quota for the development of Sekondi. So, when the masquerading clubs came to him with their appeal, he saw the need to support them because of the economic potentials in their activities in Sekondi.
According to Lawyer Blay, the gesture aims at addressing a key challenge faced by the clubs in ensuring the availability of costumes in the required numbers. “With this support, the clubs will be able to enhance their costume production capabilities, enabling them to create beautiful displays that genuinely represent the cultural essence of Sekondi,” he added.

The initiative is a testament to Lawyer Blay’s dedication to the economic development of the constituency. By revamping tourism and promoting masquerade culture.
His aim is to create a ripple effect that benefits the entire community. The increased appeal of Sekondi’s masquerade performances will attract more visitors, boost local businesses, and create valuable employment opportunities.
“This donation of industrial sewing machines is a significant step towards preserving cultural heritage, stimulating economic growth, and positioning Sekondi as a premier tourist destination. Such a visionary approach to uplifting the tourism potential of Sekondi needs to be supported by all to make Sekondi Great again.”
“I have a duty to make Sekondi become great again, and I am ready to support the good course of Sekondi with all my resources,” he stressed.
“Sekondi has a lot of tourism sites and emoluments to showcase, and if we are able to package them well and attractive, we will see its economic impact to the transformation of the city.”
He mentioned Paa Grant house in Sekondi, Forte Orange and other places, saying if they are rebranded well, it will create great brand for Sekondi for development.
Lawyer Blay is seeking the mandate of the people to elect him to become the Member of Parliament for Sekondi constituency come December 7, 2024 general elections.
The beneficiaries on their part expressed their appreciation to Lawyer Blay for the kind gesture.
They said, the donation would relieve them greatly, because it will reduce the cost of the dress and save them a lot of money during the annual masquerading festival in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.
