Evalue Ajomoro Gwira branch executives warn NDC over decision to suspend Constituency Chairman, 2 others

The Evalue Ajomoro Gwira branch executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western region has warned against the decision of the Western Regional Chairman to suspend some constituency executives.

The executives are the Constituency Chairman, Emmanuel Ennor Kofi, the Constituency Secretary, Gideon Ansah-Mensah and Constituency Organizer, Pius Kwame Obosu.

Addressing the media at a press conference in Axim in the Nzema East municipality, the Spokesperson of the Coalition for Branch Executives who doubles as the Communications Officer for Bamiankor Electoral Area, Raymond Mensah, accused the regional executives of plotting to allow the MP, Kofi Arko Nokoe to go to the primaries unopposed.

According to him, the regional executives at an executive meeting on Thursday, April 6, 2023, took a decision to suspend the three constituency executives for influencing the branch executives to boo the Member of Parliament, Kofi Arko Nokoe during the Campaign tour of the former President John Dramani Mahama at Axim in the Western region.

He added, the regional executives have also accused of the supposed suspended executives with allegation that they printed T-shirt of some parliamentary aspirants to them to make the MP unpopular.

Mr. Mensah complained that, the decision of the regional executives to suspend the Constituency Chairman and other two executives, if not checked and resolved, will make the party lose the parliamentary seat to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The action, according to him, has the tendency of disintegrating the party in the constituency, and it would weaken the party.

The spokesperson again accused Western Regional chairman, Nana Toku, of taken a bribe from the MP, given him the assurance to contest unopposed.

Mr. Mensah also alleged that the regional executives have been consistently interfered in the issues emanating from the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency without given the constituency executives the opportunity to resolve the matter themselves.

It was also said, the regional executives are making the attempt to disqualify other parliamentary hopefuls who preparing the MP when nomination is opened.

He claimed that, the MP has failed, and he is no longer popular, adding that the party will suffer if they present him again as their candidate in 2024 parliamentary elections.

Mr. Raymond Mensah, called for an open contest, saying whoever the party elects as their parliamentary candidate, they will accept him/her and offer the person all the support to break the four-year term jinx in Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency.
