
A sod has been cut for the construction of a multipurpose edifies at Ituma in the Shama`District.
The ultramodern edifies which is estimated to cost about 750,000 Ghana Cedis when completed will be a story building with a conference center, health center with accommodation for nurses and a community center.
The Assembly Member for Ituma, Mr. Percy Ahenakwah in an exclusive interview with Ahoto Fm as monitored by Ghananest.com said the project is a community initiative project, hence funds to finance the project will be drawn from funds from corporate institutions, support from the Assembly and technical support from artisans in the community.
Mr. Ahenakwah added that already the community has obtained 24 cubic of sand 14 cubic of stone and 14 cubic of quarry dust, 3000 blocks, 4 tons of iron rods and 100 bags of cement… we have technical person from Ituma, mason, steel benders, carpenters who with the technical direction from Engineers from the District Assembly are determined to help put up an ultramodern building”.
The Hon. Assembly Member stressed that he is posed to see to the start and a successful completion the project hence “ the project will kick start on Monday 9th January,2023, the entire community will come on board to prepare the foundation for the building and we will use the following week to fill the foundation…so we are not going to sleep after cutting this sod we are prepared to build this edifies to serve the community” he said.
The short ceremony was graced by Officials from Shama District Assembly, Nana Esuon Nchabann who is the Chief of Ituma and other Traditional leaders.
