Let’s not allow issues to jeopardize the relationship between Ghana Gas and Ellembelle District Assembly – Owusu-Bempah
The Head of Corporate Communication of Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas), Ernest Owusu Bemoah, has said that he does not intend to jeopardize the long-term relationship between Ghana Gas and Ellembelle District Assembly.
Mr. Owusu-Bempah call follows the recent misunderstanding between himself and Kwasi Bonzo, the District Chief Executive of Ellembelle over the alleged payment of 8 million Ghana cedis to the latter.
Addressing a joint press conference on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Takoradi, Mr. Owusu-Bempah, denied the allegations that he has said Ghana Gas has paid an amount of 8 million Ghana cedis to the DCE.

According to him, what he said was that Ghana Gas has paid 8 million Ghana cedis to the Ellembelle District Assembly as property rate and business operating permit in the district and not to Mr. Kwasi Bonzo in person.
He stressed that, he later realized that the amount he quoted has been paid to the district was not accurate because it was 4.50 million Ghana cedis.
The District Chief Executive of Ellembelle, Kwasi Bonzo on his part, expressed great relief over the clarification, adding that the record has now been set that the said money was paid into the assembly’s account and not him as a person as was reported.
